About Barbro

The Barbro concept was developed by Dr. Alexander Neagos in Gönningen near Reutlingen. Desiring to make the tamping step of espresso preparation easier for his wife, he built the first prototype of the vibrating tamper in 2019 and applied for a patent for the idea. In daily use, it quickly became apparent that the horizontal handle improves ergonomics enormously due to the natural hand position, the vibration always distributes the powder consistently and reliably prevents channeling. The fun factor of tamping is also so high that tamping becomes the highlight of espresso preparation.

Made in Germany

Each Barbro is assembled by hand in Gönningen and tested before delivery. The materials for the Babros come primarily from Europe. The stainless steel parts are made in Romania, the fine wooden handles in a traditional wood turning workshop in northern Germany. The intelligent control unit was developed in collaboration with Strobel Elektronik in Hirrlingen near Tübingen, where production also takes place.
